This evening my choir sang at a wedding. It wins the distinguished title of "strangest wedding I've ever been to," and I have been to some non-Fairwood weddings...
This one included a lovely reading from the Native American commandments. Huh? I didn't even know they had commandments. They included things like "Remain close to the Great Spirit, in all that you do" and "Treat the Earth and all that dwell thereon with respect." Okaaaay.
Then we had the vows: "I will wipe your tears with my hands" and "I will introduce you to my soul." Riiiiight.
The crowning moment was the African wedding blessing that included "may your teeth be white for smiling." I found out later that the groom has done commercials for teeth whitener. Hahahaha.
Ay ay ay. We're not in Fairwood anymore, Toto!
